TRAKOŠĆAN CASTLE

VARAŽDIN
Charming, walkable, and full of character — Varaždin is a city that knows how to leave an impression. Often called the “city of baroque,” it’s a place where pastel facades, quiet squares and ornate details tell stories of its grand past.
Start at the Old Town fortress, now the Varaždin City Museum, and explore a space that’s been keeping history alive since 1925. After that, go your own way: wander the cobbled streets, stop for a coffee, or visit the beautifully designed city cemetery — yes, really. It’s known for its unique mix of landscape and garden architecture.
Varaždin is one of those places that feels both laid-back and rich with culture — a combination that makes you want to stay longer than planned.
